A LETTER FROM A FAN (Upon hearing that we're headed to N.Y. for the 2010 festival.) Well... you won, Pippin. Most awesome hobbit award. But specifically: getting this beautiful work of genius to a broader audience seems like a big win for you guys (probably a very important one, as far as spreading the Fellowship love). Maybe I'm just super late on the good NYC festival show news (was in Europes all summer), but I am so stoked for you guys. I only wish you could grasp how into Fellowship me and my friends are. Fellowshipping has become a verb that typically requires a mini-van, a bag of weed, and 7-10 people singing every word of every song on the CD at the top of our lungs in the Jack-in-the-Box drive through and all through town. A few of us saw it at Comic Con in 2005, and fell in love. We bought CD's and T-shirts, and ended up hitting up the forums at the show's website almost daily to see when we could get our next Fellowship Fix. There were whispers and scattered comments about trying to find a New York audience. We watched and waited, and it finally paid off, becoming a large-scale pilgrimage for a lot of us when you guys revamped last year, with most of us making multiple trips up to L.A. to see the show (so we could attend the show as we had originally seen it, and then a week later rock out at the sing along). It is so amazing to see this get out and reach a bigger group of people who WILL DEFINITELY enjoy it. I know you guys are gonna rock. - Joshua S. |
